    Where Art Meets Mystery

    My journal has become my closest companion this last month.  It all began as I started attending a weekly meditation group and found rich stories pouring out of my inner worlds.  Often the stories were of my own healing or the impressions I felt from those I was close to.  Then, I began working with family members who were ill and a friend who was dying and the images I saw when I closed my eyes and got quiet invited themselves onto the pages of my journal.     Mother’s Day: By Nature or Nurture

    Whether you are a mother by nature or nurture, I wish you a beautiful Mother’s Day.  Today is the perfect day to honor all the ways you give to others but is especially good for connecting with how you mother yourself during the year. I have decided to shake Mother’s Day up a bit.  Even though I don’t have children, I have always felt an extremely strong sense of Motherhood.  I am a champion of children (both young and old) and take pride in the fact that I can create safety for others to be the best they can be.  I also feel myself going through the birthing process with…

    A Sense of Something More For as long as I can remember, my family has told ghost stories. As a child, my father swore some ghost named Oscar inhabited the attic. We knew from Oscar’s outrageous life (the fact that his girlfriend’s name was Petunia and her favorite flower was a cactus) that Oscar was a brilliant, ongoing story my father crafted when he wanted our undivided attention.
